The Baller Alert Show, featuring your lifestyle specialist Kenny Burns, with Ferrari Simmons and Su Solo, kicked off its 58th episode with a recap of the hottest topics and current events from the previous week.
In case you missed it, the hosts discussed the biggest events over the last two weeks, from the Super Bowl, the release of ‘American Soul,’ and of course The Grammys.
To start, the host kicked off the conversation with The RocNation Brunch, which is usually documented on social media as one of the most inspirational and motivation black events. Black Excellence at its peak.
“I think that the comradery I felt as a teenager is culture is back, when I was growing up you had Public Enemy, you had all these things, and it was pro-black everything,” Burns said of the monumental moment. “I felt excellence. I felt support; I felt comradery.”
“I think that’s what we need to get back to, those moments where we can have these conversations, uplift each other, inspire each other and put things into perspective going forward in business,” Burns added.
From there, the three opened up about Drake’s Grammy speech. Although the speech was cut short, the message was loud and clear, seek validation from the people that support and love you, rather than an award. The hosts also touched on Cardi’s red carpet appearance, her incredible performance, and her acceptance speech, after she secured the award for Best Rap Album for her debut album, “Invasion of Privacy.”
The three also discussed Jennifer Lopez’s Motown performance, H.E.R’s performance and of course, Chloe x Halle’s breathtaking performance at the Grammys.
As the episode continued, the hosts opened up about the Gucci backlash and controversy, before they transitioned into Simmons’ Baller Mail, which focused on being uncomfortable in your own home.
In the next segment, Su shared this week’s comment creeping, which featured alleged shade from Anita Baker. However, as it turns out, it was just a miscommunication.
