It seems like everyone in Hollywood is coming together lately and squashing their past issues. Unless there’s a gun involved.
It was reported earlier this week that Wanda Smith’s husband allegedly pulled a gun on Katt Williams, chasing him across the street to a local supermarket over Williams’ roasting session his wife.
After many came to the comedian’s defense, the comedian addressed the alleged incident after picking up his Emmy at the Awards show.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” he said when asked about the incident, in which he reportedly filed a police report. “What gun?” he asked.
When the reporter asked if Smith’s husband really threatened him with a gun, Williams hesitates before saying, “If somebody did pull out a gun, what would you do that for? … if it wasn’t to shoot?”
“I assure you if there was a gun, there would be police and jail and all types of things, right?” Williams says. “So there could be no gun.”
When asked if he and Tiffany Haddish squashed their beef, Williams said there was never any beef and he regrets even speaking on her or Wanda Sykes in the now-viral interview with Atlanta’s V103.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Tiffany and I never had an issue. I was just really sorry I mentioned Wanda Sykes or Tiffany’s name. I was in a conversation with a non-female comedian, about female comedians and that’s a no-no.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When asked about beef, Haddish said simply “It was never a problem, sir.” She later added, “I never had no issue with Katt.” When TMZ asked if she’d work with him in the future, she said: “If I’m getting paid, I’m gon get that money.” Haddish posted several photos with Williams at the event.
Haddish won an Emmy for guest actress in a comedy series for her work hosting Saturday Night Live. Williams won an Emmy for his role on the FX breakout hit show, Atlanta.
It’s nice to see the two talented comedians moving on.
