On Monday morning, Bill Cosby arrived at the Montgomery County Courthouse for the commencement of his sentencing hearing, as the final portion of his sexual assault case.
Back in April, the iconic comedian was convicted on three counts of sexual assault, becoming the first celebrity in the #MeToo era to go to trial.
Formerly known and loved as America’s dad, based on his role as Dr. Heath Cliff Huxtable on “The Cosby Show,” the 81-year-old fell from grace after dozens of women came forward with allegations of drugging and sexual assault at the hands of the legendary comedian. However, it was Andrea Constand’s criminal charges that left Cosby facing prison time for the rest of his life.
Though the state suggested a one-to four year sentence, after Cosby’s two-day sentencing hearing, which featured testimony about the comedian’s sex offender evaluation, the comedian was slapped with a 3-10 year sentence.
