We can argue many things when it comes to Kanye West but one thing that we can’t; West still maintains a successful clothing and shoe line through his controversial political antics.
The rapper/designer is expected to release his first-ever Yeezy basketball shoe with Adidas athletes during the upcoming NBA season, according to ESPN. The only problem is, the shoe’s current version has a gleaming, reflective-material located on the heel which would cause the NBA to ban the shoe.
Kanye isn’t the first to run into the problem, Carmelo Anthony had similar issues when trying to release his “Jordan M10” signature shoe, which consisted of a metallic chrome heel. Sources say the reflective material can be distracting to players and spectators.
Ye explained that his Yeezy basketball shoe has undergone over 300 samples and in development for over three years via Instagram.
League officials haven’t received or formally reviewed the shoe in person but rather seen a version online that most likely would not be approved.
