In 2016, Kim Kardashian was held at gunpoint inside her Paris residence and robbed of millions of dollars in jewelry, after her longtime bodyguard, Pascal Duvier, left to protect sisters, Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall Jenner.
Despite fulfilling his duty for the sisters, the traumatic incident left Duvier feeling guilty, so he “reassigned himself to another family for professional reasons.”
But now, two years later, Kim’s insurance company is looking for someone to blame after it was forced to shell out over $6 million for West’s stolen jewelry. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
According to TMZ, American International Group (AIG) has filed a lawsuit against Duvier and his security company, Protect Security, for leaving her in the Paris hotel on Oct 3, 2016.
In the suit, the company is demanding $6,116,067 to cover the cost of the stolen jewelry, claiming Duvier and his company “negligently, carelessly, and/or recklessly performed their protection, security, monitoring, inspection, and/or surveying of” Kim K and the hotel. The company said the security team “should have known hat they were required to protect, secure, monitor, inspect, and/or survey…using the skill and care reasonably expected of those in this industry.”
In the wake of the suit, Duvier has deleted his online presence.
