50 Cent $3 Million Defamation Lawsuit Dismissed

50 Cent won’t have to Get The Strap as the media outlet that sued him for $3 million has called off the lawsuit. 

The Blast obtained documents that show Cheri Media, the parent company of Hip Hop DX, has dropped its lawsuit against the New York media mogul.

Hip Hop DX filed a lawsuit against 50 after he called them “a bogus news outlet that does not check its facts” following the release of a story the outlet did on the legitimacy of 50’s deal with Bellator MMA. After news hit that his deal was real, the “Power” star called them “fake news,” which prompted the outlet to take legal action. The site claimed the artist tarnished their reputation. 

According to Hot New Hip Hop, Fif said that the website was threatening his freedom of speech and called the suit “an affront to the fundamental protections to free speech by the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.”

In the end, Fif came up $20,000 after he sued the site for publishing a photo of his without permission.
