Bruce Jenner is gone once and for all. Caitlyn Jenner has gone through the necessary steps to legally change her name — and gender.
According to documents filed on September 15th, William Bruce Jenner will now be known as Caitlyn Marie Jenner listing the reason for he change as “to better match my identity” .
Cait didn’t just change her name though, she’s also officially changed her gender and will be legally identified as a woman. “Before, you had to have gender-confirmation surgery before you could change your gender marker. There was advocacy done to change that, and now you just have to have clinically appropriate treatment to change your gender marker,” Drian Juarez, a representative from the Los Angeles LGBT Center, tells Caitlyn on an episode of I Am Cait.
Caitlyn was granted a new birth certificate with both her new name and gender.
