Former New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez is trapped in a spousal/child support battle with ex-wife, Cynthia Scurtis.
A-Rod retired from the Yankees in 2016 but has been paying $115,000 a month tax-free in spousal/child support. The divorce happened in 2008 and ever since he’d been paying the large amount due to him bringing home $30 million a year.
The payments have been on-going for a decade but the only problem is since the former Yankees’ retirement, he has brought home 90 percent less. As a result, A-Rod is calling for his spousal and child support to be reduced to $20k a month, although he feels the expenses for their two kids range from $7k-$12k a month.
In legal docs obtained by The Blast, A-Rod claims Cynthia has a master’s degree in psychology yet chooses not to work. He says she is now a rich woman with millions in the bank, with 3 homes and multiple cars. He also says she has a new child and a fiance, and he feels he’s now bankrolling all of them, TMZ reports.
According to TMZ, the ex-couple still has yet to reach an agreement. Cynthia is negotiating but wants nearly $50k a month.
