Often times when people get into relationships, they go all out to get your attention. Once they have it, all of the things they used to do in the beginning start to slow down until they eventually stop.
Are relationships hard? Of course, they are but who wants something that doesn’t require work? In anything that you do, you have to work hard to see progress, especially if it’s with someone you want to spend the rest of your life with.
If the two of you started out sending “Good Morning” text messages or just simple messages telling one another that you’re thinking about them throughout the day, then make sure to keep it up. Show them that they still matter to you.
This includes continuing to date one another. Date nights do not have to be expensive. You can do a simple dinner and a movie every other week, depending on work schedules. If kids are a factor, then monthly. The date night should consist of you and your significant other without the children. You can switch it up at times and even do double dates.
Date night can also consist of weekend getaways. Go to the nearest big city and just enjoy each other. It doesn’t have to be an island; you can go to Miami, New York, New Orleans, Atlanta, the mountains, or somewhere where you can just love and show your appreciation to one another. The key is to always keep it spontaneous. It’s the little things that matter the most.
Ladies, you can also plan the date nights. Believe it or not, men like surprises too. Remember, you are a team. Work together to ensure that the both of you remain happy and in love.
