Baller Alert Exclusive: Ice Cube Talks New Music, Big3 League, and a “Friday” Sequel: “We Working On It”

After more than 30 years in the industry, Ice Cube has managed to reach legendary status in several different facets of the business, from his Hall of Fame music career to his classic works in film and television. And now, ahead of the release of his 10th studio album, the living legend has opened up about his forthcoming projects, including a “Friday” sequel. 

“Exciting stuff,” Ice Cube said of his new music and his classic sound. “I don’t think I should be changing with the times. I should be doing what I do best,” adding that he doesn’t compare himself to young rappers in the business. “I don’t compare myself to them, they gotta compare themselves to me.” 

As Cube continued, the rapper opened up about the Big3  but refused to give too much information about it. Instead, he spilled some tea about a “Friday” sequel, saying, “We working on it, it’s a lot of moving parts with that.” 

“We writing,” Cube said of the script but added that they’re still working on getting the cast together. “Ain’t nobody agreed yet, it’s all about the contract.”
