Former “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star Benzino is in a boatload of legal trouble, stemming from a 2017 drug bush and arrest. If convicted, the record producer-turned-reality star could face up to 15 years behind bars.
Zino was arrested in January 2017 and charged with felony possession of 22 grams of THC oil dummies and 6 MDMA pills, in addition to a misdemeanor charge for possession of less than an ounce of weed.
In documents obtained by the publication, officials executed a search warrant at his ATL apartment and found drugs everywhere. As a result, Zino was busted, booked and later released on a $12,000 bail.
Though the producer’s legal team initially argued that the search was illegal, a judge ruled in favor of the cops and proceeded with the case. Now, Zino is facing multiple felony drug charges, with the possibility of over a decade in jail.
According to TMZ, the producer’s legal team will find out if the case will be heading to trial on Wednesday, that is if Zino doesn’t secure a plea deal. If not, sources say the trial could begin as soon as next month.
