Music icon Janet Jackason will be inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s 2019 class.

Jackson has been in the entertainment industry for decades and has given us some of the best classics like “Control,” “Nasty,” “Doesn’t Really Matter” and so many more. She’s also won a total of five Grammys. Her contributions to television, film, and music make her an all-around artist  and support the reason behind being chosen as Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s newest inductee.

Jackson will join the Hall of Fame along with Radiohead, The Cure, Stevie Nicks, Roxy Music, Def Leppard, and the Zombies. She will also be joining her brothers, Michael and the Jackson 5, as members of the prestigious group. In a social media post, Janet wrote, “We did it u guys,” she wrote with a purple heart. “Thank U for all your love and support. #RockHall2019.”

This year Jackson performed at the 2018 Essence Festival, Billboard Music Awards, Panorama Music Festival, and the Global Citizens Festival. She also dropped a new hit song with Reggaeton artist #DaddyYankee.  “I’m deeply humbled and grateful for this award. I believe for all the challenges we live at a glorious moment in history,” she said during her Icon Award acceptance speech at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards. “It’s a moment at long last that’s made it clear that we will no longer be controlled, manipulated or abused.”

Ms. Jackson will receive her award the 34th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony which will be held on Mar. 29 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
