As the debate over the King of R&B continues, the already-crowned king is looking to settle the dispute, once and for all. But, for anyone looking to claim the thrown, Bobby Brown says you’ve got to go through him to get it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In a TMZ interview with Brown in Beverly Hills, he said, “They want the title they got to battle me,” confirming his retention of the title.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“I really didn’t want to talk about it, but I been seeing it on Instagram and social media, and to me it’s like, you want the title battle me,” he said, as he revealed the requirements.
“Live on stage,” Brown said, doubling down on his claim that he is, in fact, the king of the stage. Although Brown said he’s open to face off against anyone, including Jacquees, when it comes to the person who deserves the title of this generation, he said it should definitely be Chris Brown or Usher.
“Chris Brown is a bad boy, Usher is a bad boy, I think if anyone deserves the title it would be one of them,” he said. “Or, we still got R. Kelly.
“I turned 50, so I need to relinquish the title anyway,” he said, adding that if he were to pass down the title to anyone else, it would be Usher – and he won’t have to battle him for it.
“That’s like my son,” Brown said. “He’s that good, I think he should battle Chris Brown.”
As for Jacquees, Brown doesn’t know him at all, so he’s out of the equation.
