Forever First Lady Michelle Obama has become this year’s Most Admired Woman.
According to the results of a new Gallup poll, more Americans admire Mrs. Obama than any other woman this year. This is the first time in 17 years that Hillary Clinton didn’t top the country’s Most Admired list. Clinton and Melania Trump were tied in the third place spot. The poll was conducted between December 3 and December 12.
Obama has been touring for her highly successful autobiography “Becoming;” and was named by 15 percent of respondents on the survey. Clinton and Trump had their names come up 4 percent of the time. Coming in second place was the Queen of Talk Oprah Winfrey, generating 5 percent of the responses.
As for men, Barack Obama topped the list of Most Admired Men for the 11th consecutive year, with 19 percent of those surveyed naming him. Donald Trump came in second with 13 percent of the vote.
Others who made the list are Queen Elizabeth, who received 10th place for a record 50th time, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, human rights activist Malala Yousafzai and House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi.
