Talk about an online dating horror story! According to court documents obtained by the Arizona Republic, in July 2017, Jaqueline Ades of Phoenix, then age 31, met a man on an online dating site called #Luxy. She told investigators that the site advertised that it could connect users with “verified millionaires”.
After one initial date with the victim, officers were called to respond after Ades was found parked outside the victims Paradise Valley home. Officers found Ades still on scene when they arrived and told her to leave, shortly thereafter the man started to receive threatening text messages from Ades.
Back in 2017, reports initially stated that Ades sent about 65k text messages, when in fact she sent over 159k.
Ades “love notes” were as romantic as a scene out of the ‘Saw’ movie franchise.
“I ‘d wear ur fascia (a band of connective tissue under the skin) n the top of ur skull n ur hands n feet,” one of the alleged messages read.
Another message threatened, “I’d make sushi outta ur kidneys n chopsticks outta ur hand bones,” according to police officials.
The victim filed another report with police after a sighting of Ades near his residence in December of 2017, but police were unable to locate her by the time they arrived. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
On April 8, 2018, the victim called detectives a third time to report that he was out of town but was able to see Ades rummaging through his place on a home security surveillance system.
When police arrived at the victims residence, Ms. Ades was making herself right at home, caught taking a relaxing bath. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Evidence from the arresting officers’ body camera video obtained by the Arizona Republic, allegedly showed Ades arguing with officers, claiming “I guess that I made up a whole scenario in my head where I live here, so I came here and pretended that’s what was happening.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
She was taken into custody, charged with trespassing and officers found a large butcher knife in her car. It was noted that she showed obvious signs of mental illness.
Even after her release, Ades allegedly continued to send threatening messages to the victim. While she readily admitted that she sent about 500 text messages to him a day, reports show that in total the victim received upwards of 159,000 text messages over a 10 month period.
Ades has plead not guilty to charges of stalking and criminal trespassing and is still being held without bond at the Maricopa County Jail. She’s awaiting her trial which is set to begin early next month.
