Former Cosby Show Star Joseph C. Phillips Awarded Spousal And Child Support In Divorce Settlement

Joseph C. Phillips, who played Lt. Martin Kendall, husband of Denise Huxtable on “The Cosby Show,” and his ex-wife of 23 years, Nicole, have settled in court following their divorce, and Joseph came out victorious in this battle. Joseph will receive spousal and child support from his ex-wife.

According to The Blast, Joseph will receive $833 per month in child support for the couple’s 17-year-old son. The support payments are retroactive to August 2018, so Joseph will get $4,165 for the last five months. In regards to spousal support, Joseph will get $2,258 for  November and December 2018 and will then receive $1,659 per month, beginning this month. His ex-wife was also ordered to pay $5,000 to help cover his legal fees.

Nicole filed for divorce from Joseph last July after 23 years of marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences.” She was seeking joint custody of their son, Samuel, the only remaining minor of their three children and requested the court not to allow Joseph to be awarded spousal support. However, the judge ruled otherwise.
