Just days after an Illinois facility denied a permit for an April concert, featuring the self-proclaimed Pied Piper, himself, the singer’s record label has stopped all his future bags.
According to TMZ, R. Kelly’s label, RCA/Sony, has put a pause on all his future musical releases, as the allegations from the Lifetime docu-series, “Surviving R. Kelly” pick up steam.
Sources familiar with the situation say the label will not produce any of Kelly’s new music, will not fund his future projects, and will not release any new songs until the criminal investigation in Georgia is resolved. Problem is, Kelly has two more albums until his contract with RCA ends, and according to his Instagram, he’s been working on his new music for some time now.
But, amid the public scrutiny, the label has decided to cease all future projects. However, according to TMZ, the new move also leaves the label in a sticky situation with Kelly, as it could face legal action if the block continues without formal charges filed to justify the label’s actions.
In the meantime, the self-proclaimed Pied Piper may continue to release music via Soundcloud, for those who are even still listening.
