Ciara granted a lot of wishes when she finally revealed the prayer she said for hubby, Russell Wilson. Now, Serena Williams is unveiling the thoughtful words of wisdom she got from Oprah in order to land Alexis Ohanian.
The Williams-Ohanian relationship is undebatably one of our favorite unions to watch. I mean, have you seen baby Alexis Olympia? However, just like the average woman, it wasn’t an easy road to find her Prince Charming. The path was only made more apparent by speaking with the love/lifestyle mogul after leaving rumored associations with Common and Drake.
Serena divulged in Allure’s 2019 February issue that Oprah advised her to, “Never let anyone dim your light.”
“He doesn’t try to dim my light. He puts me in the light, even if I don’t want to be.”
“He pushes me to further points I never thought about. It always was something that I could see in some relationships — my light would be dimmer. Now I feel like I can shine really bright and still do everything that I want to do.”
Being with Alexis has opened her eyes to being okay with the amazing feeling of putting her self first. Especially when she has a partner “that believes in her.”
