A Connecticut man has been arrested and charged after police said he broke into a Bridgeport home and assaulted a woman who was asleep, according to the Connecticut Post.
The newspaper reported that 35 year old Hiram was held on $300,000 bond after being charged with home invasion and sexual assault. The woman told police she woke late at night to find an unknown man in her bedroom. She said she screamed and woke her husband, who chased the man out of the house and down the street before losing sight of him.
Police said that when officers arrived at the home they found a wallet that included Hiram’s Connecticut identification card. It was not clear whether Hiram had an attorney who could comment on the allegations.
The charges are allegations, and Hiram is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
