Nick Cannon Says Travis Scott’s Decisions To Procreate With Kylie Jenner and Perform At The Super Bowl Were Not “For The Culture”

With less than two weeks until the biggest night in sports, Nick Cannon is still not here for Travis Scott’s decision to perform for the Super Bowl. 

In a recent Interview with BET’s “Raq Rants,” Cannon shared his opinion about Scott’s decision and compared it to Big Boi’s decision to play alongside the “Astroworld” rapper, making it clear that only one was acceptable based on their cultural impact.

“I’m team Kaepernick all day,” Cannon revealed. “To me, I call it cultural equity. So we’re not mad at Big Boi for being on the Super Bowl. He’s for the people. But someone like Travis Scott, he’s got to walk gingerly.” 

“It’s more about truly having integrity to who you are in your music, your art form, the people you choose to interact with, the people you choose to procreate with,” Cannon continued, adding that his decision to have a baby with Kylie Jenner was not exactly “for the culture.” 

“But, we not mad at you,” Cannon said, adding that he, too, loves White women, before clarifying that the outrage is all about cultural equity at the end of the day. 

According to Americans for the Hearts, Cultural Equity “embodies the values, policies and practices that ensure that all people – including but not limited to those who have been historically underrepresented based on race/ethnicity, age, etc, are represented in the development of arts policy; the support of artists; the nurturing of accessible, thriving venues for expression; and the fair distribution of programmatic, financial informational resources,” according to Cannon, Scott just ain’t it.
