While New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall’s race related comments during Showtime’s “Inside the NFL” we’re not well liked by some, the NFL player had no intentions of backing down. He has, however, clarified what he meant.
Naturally with the Tom Brady and Deflategate situation being well discussed leading into the NFL season, many players may have a strong opinion regarding the matter. Especially in regards to the federal judge’s decision to overturn the four game suspension Brady was given. Marshall came forward Thursday to set the record straight regarding his comments.
“It had nothing to do with the judge,” Marshall said, referring to U.S. District Judge Richard M. Berman, who nullified Brady’s four-game suspension. “I was just saying what I thought was the opinion of a bunch of players. It had nothing to do with the case. It was just our approach.
“The only thing I will say about what whole deal is, I think we all know … whenever you talk about race, whenever you talk about religion and politics, it’s uncomfortable and it can be tough at times.”
Now I don’t think Brandon Marshall made his comments directed at the judge but more expressing how some players are a bit more privileged and get away with more in the league.
