Amid Wendy Williams’ ongoing hiatus from her namesake talk show, new details about Williams’ personal life have surfaced, thanks to her mother-in-law.
According to an exclusive report by @bossipofficial, as part of a monthlong investigation into Williams’ hiatus, the publication has learned Williams has reportedly been a victim of domestic abuse at the hands of her husband and manager, Kevin Hunter.
Back in December, Williams addressed rumors about her decline in health and maintained she was “feeling swell,” despite complications with Graves’ disease and rumors of self-medication as a result of her shoulder injury. However, Love B. Scott later revealed that the host’s health was only part of the problem, claiming her husband’s extramarital affair had taken a toll on her as well, as he had reportedly gotten his mistress pregnant.
Although Williams denied the allegations with a cease and desist, the host’s prolonged postponement sparked even more concern. Now, following the show’s third delay, it appears Williams is covering up something way bigger than a cheating scandal.
According to Bossip, Williams has been a longtime victim of domestic abuse and has reportedly helped her husband cover it up. Problem is, it’s been reported by multiple parties, including Hunter’s mother, Pearlet.
“I saw Kevin choking out Wendy!” Pearlet said, according to the publication. “Another time, I witnessed him kicking the shit out of her and pushing her down the stairs.”
Other sources revealed that Hunter had been seen “choking her, kicking her and punching her in the face,” while a former employee detailed the abuse in a lawsuit, saying, Williams “suffered horrendous physical abuse at the hands of her husband of hell.”
In fact, rumors of an alleged history of abuse on Hunter’s part has been circling the industry for years. However, further details remain unclear.
