Radford University student Luisa Cutting opened the door for police, covered in her roommate and “best friend” Alexa Cannon’s blood. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The 21-year-old college junior confessed to killing Alexa by stabbing her to death some 30-40 times.
The two women were reportedly best friends since they met freshmen year.
Police were called to the students’ apartment complex at 7:45 am on Thursday, with the dispatcher reporting that a female caller had been screaming during the call about a knife.
When officers arrived, they were greeted by Cutting, who was covered in blood. She immediately turned around and put her hands behind her back, telling officers “arrest me.” When cops asked why they should arrest her, she told them simply, “I killed her.”
Inside the apartment, officers found Alexa laying dead with a butcher knife sticking out of her mouth and her cellphone under her body, near her left hand.
Search warrants indicated that cops also found pills, smoking devices and grinders in Cutting’s bedroom and a brown chalk-like substance was taken from the kitchen.
Both girls were extremely open and active on their social media, gushing over each other and referring to each other as “Best Friends,” in multiple posts.
One posts seemed to eerily predict the problems to come, Alexa (the victim) captioned a photo and wrote:
“I met this girl two years ago online, and somehow we ended up living across from each other for a year, this summer she was the equivalent to my mom. Unimaginably she still puts up with me and now we’re living together next year. Love you more Lu and everyone pray that we don’t kill each other this year.”
Friends and family of both women were said to be completely mystified by the brutal murder and have no clue as to a motive.
Both girls were expected to graduate next May.
