21 Savage’s Manager Provides Update on Rapper’s Deportation Situation: “He Is In Lockdown For 23 Hrs Of The Day”

Over the weekend, 21 Savage was arrested in Atlanta over allegations of a longstanding illegal stay in the United States as a United Kingdom National. While the federal agency claimed 21’s criminal history sparked his sudden arrest for his “unlawful presence,” his lawyer scoffed at the allegations, highlighting the fact that 21’s record was expunged. 

In fact, the lawyer also revealed that his client had been actively trying to obtain an updated Visa, but there’d been no movement until this weekend’s arrest, and now, in the wake of the arrest, lawyers say officials have been trying to “intimidate” 21 into “giving up his right to fight to remain in the United States.”

Since then though, Savage’s co-manager has revealed further details about the incident and provided an update on Savage’s mindset after the recent series of events. 

“Just got off phone wit Savage..” MegaMeezy wrote this morning. “He is in lockdown for 23 hrs of the day no TV or any communication besides our 10 min phone calls…Everything I’ve told him that has been happening made him happy & makes this time fly by thank y’all for the support.” 

While it remains unclear if 21 will be deported, lawyers, according to Complex, are optimistic. “As a top entertainer and an internationally recognized talent, 21 Savage would be eligible to apply for permanent residence in the United States, also known as a green card.” 

Meanwhile, 21’s lawyer, Charles H. Kuck has called the entire situation “a civil law violation,” adding that, “Mr. Abraham-Joseph has U.S. citizen children that he supports and is eligible for relief from deportation. We and he will fight for his release, for his family, and his right to remain in our country.”
