In the wake of the British airing of Dan Reed’s “Leaving Neverland” documentary, which details years of alleged abuse at the hands of Michael Jackson, Drake has reportedly pulled his MJ track from his U.K. tour set list.
On Sunday, the self-proclaimed 6God kicked off his ‘Assassination Nation’ tour in Northern England at the Manchester Arena. Although the setlist mimicked the North American tour – with the same opening and closing – Drake purposely omitted his Jackson-sampled track, “Don’t Matter to Me” from his “Scorpion” album.
The song featured Jackson’s 1983 vocals from a session with Paul Anka. It also debuted at No. 9 on U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and No. 2 on UK Singles Chart. However, amid the ongoing controversy surrounding Jackson’s allegations of sexual abuse, it appears Drake has moved to nix the song from his show.
In the meantime, it remains unclear if Drake will add the song back in, as he is expected to hit the Manchester Arena stage again tonight.
