Everybody’s favorite judge is getting her dues!
The love-hate relationship #JudgeJudy has built with court show watchers as gone on for ages. Now, it’s finally time to acknowledge the accomplishments she’s made on television. Judith Sheindlin will be honored at the 46th Annual Daytime Emmys with a Lifetime Achievement award.
Senior Vice President and Executive Producer of the ceremony, David Michaels stated, “Daytime television wouldn’t be what it is today without Judy Sheindlin. ‘Judge Judy’ redefined and reinvigorated the courtroom format propelling the genre to new heights.”
NATAS President & CEO Adam Sharp also told Entertainment Tonight, “The Daytime Emmy Awards recognize both the excellence and vibrant diversity of daytime television programming. Judge Judy Sheindlin epitomizes both, shaping one of the mainstay genres of our medium.”
Say what you want about the 76-year-old law veteran, but that title belongs to her. The controversial judge has been holding the number one syndicated program spot with 10 million viewers every day. She even has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was inducted into the Broadcasting & Cable “Hall of Fame.” Her talents have even expanded to creating other shows, like “Hot Bench” and writing several best-selling books.
Judy will also be breaking a record as the first courtroom figure to receive the award. Congratulations, Judge Sheindlin!
