The MTV Video Music Awards, hosted by Miley Cyrus, will air this Sunday, August 30.
Today the network announced this year’s “Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award” recipient will be none other than Kanye West. There’s no denying Kanye has pushed boundaries and put out some of the most classic music videos throughout his career.
“Yeezus has more than earned this honor, after years of releasing groundbreaking music and accompanying videos that have always pushed the envelope,” says MTV. ” From “Through the Wire,” to “Runaway” and “Bound 2,” his creative depths have never ceased to amaze us, and some could argue that his videos are complete masterpieces in their own right.”
The “Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award” is considered one of the highest honored awards an artist can receive and Kanye will be joining the likes of Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Madonna, and Justin Timberlake.
Congrats to Kanye, hopefully he performs. What is your favorite Kanye video?
