Earlier this month, “Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition” star Tammy Rivera took to Instagram to call out the WEtv program for deceptive editing, in an attempt to portray her husband, Waka Flocka, in a bad light.
“Tonight’s episode of #MBC was FULL OF SHIT! The whole episode! I know y’all want to make a good show but not at the expense of our REAL LIVES!” Rivera wrote. “To know the obstacles me and my husband been through and edit a WHOLE FUCKING LIE IS playing with our whole life.”
“I must say everything has been REAL and [truthful] until this episode,” she continued. “I’m disappointed that our real personalities, arguments, laughter, and struggles wasn’t enough. You had to spice it up by EDITING A STRAIGHT LIE.”
Despite the editing foul, the couple is still trying their luck with reality tv. In fact, while on a New York press run for their recurring roles on WeTV’s “Growing Up Hip Hop,” the couple opened up about what they learned from “Marriage Bootcamp” and how their reality show experience has helped them evolve as a unit.
“We learned some things,” Rivera said, as she revealed communication is key in maintaining a relationship on reality tv and in the public eye, in general. But, when it comes to the drama that’s involved in creating reality tv, Rivera said it was one thing she learned, in particular.
“They can edit it and make you learn like an idiot, anyway,” she said.
