Just because the judge won’t grant Brittney Griner an annulment, doesn’t mean she’s going to have to pay monthly spousal support either.
A Maricopa County Superior Court commissioner has denied Glory Johnson’s request to received $20,000 a month in spousal support from Brittney Griner. Johnson, who’s pregnant with twins, says that she’s unable to continue her basketball career and the bills are mounting up. “When I go to the grocery store I literally spend $300 every week,” she testified in court. “Sometimes it’s less because I don’t have it.”
Glory asked the judge for a $7,000 food budget, $6,000 for hired help and the rest to live on and use towards her Mercedes Benz payments. Glory also requested a $10,000 advancement toward her attorney fees. Unfortunately, everybody knows WNBA players aren’t paid like that, including Griner, who told the judge that even with all of her endorsements there’s no way she could afford those type of payments.
The next court hearing is set for September 25th. I’m sure Brittney is wishing this is the one where the judge grants her a divorce.
