On Monday, in honor of Nipsey Hussle, the Los Angeles Police department will sit down with Roc Nation to discuss gang violence and solutions on how to prevent the violence in L.A.
Ironically, according to TMZ, the West Coast rapper had planned to meet with the LAPD brass to help come up with ways to prevent gang violence in L.A., particularly in his own hood. Roc Nation’s Jay Brown organized the summit about three months ago, reaching out to L.A. Police Commissioner, Steve Soboroff, on Hussle’s behalf.
But, in the wake of his untimely death, Soboroff took to Twitter to express his condolences, and open up about the rapper’s intentions to help kids and end gang violence.
“We (LAPDChiefMoore and I) were meeting, at the request of Nipsey Hussle with him and Roc Nation tomorrow at 4 pm to talk about ways he could help stop gang violence and help us help kids. I’m so very sad.”
However, upon the request of Jay Brown in honor of Hussle and his mission, the meeting will still happen, and in the rapper’s absence, someone from Roc Nation will attend in his place.
“The sadness that I feel – wish we could have had the meeting on Friday,” Soboroff told TMZ of the tragedy. “I think he would have been excited about all the possibilities, and I know we were.”
