“Bad Girls Club” star and Instagram model, Shannade Clermont, has been sentenced to one year in federal prison after pleading guilty to one count of wire fraud last year.

The United States Attorney for the South District of New York announced the news on Wednesday, saying, “Former reality TV ‘Bad Girl’ Shannade Clermont lived up to her on-screen persona, as she admitted to stealing the debit card information from a man she visited for a prostitution date in his Manhattan apartment.”

“When the man died of an overdose, instead of notifying the authorities or calling for help, Clermont callously chose to use the man’s debit card information to make tens of thousands of dollars in illegal purchases. As Shannade Clermont has now learned, her real-life bad behavior has real-life consequences, and has now landed her federal prison,” Geoffrey S. Berman continued.

Shannade’s legal issues began in 2017 after the man was found dead in his Manhattan apartment on February 1. After a longstanding investigation, officials discovered that the former reality star was the last to see him, as she served as his prostitute the night before.

She then stole the man’s debit cards and later admitted to using the fraudulent information to make $20,000 in purchases in the months after his death, which she claimed was part of her attempt to keep up with her public image. But now, just two years after the incident, the 25-year-old has been sentenced to one year behind bars and three years of supervised release.

Shannade has also been ordered to cough up $5,775.27 and pay $4,696.40 in restitution.
