Discovery and BBC have joined forces to tell a story of natural history. The series will consist of both a UK and US version. It spares no details in describing the lives of some of nature’s animals.
‘Serengeti’ is fashioned to play out in six parts. Deadline explains, “From warthogs to lions, mongoose to cheetahs, a cast of our favourite African animal characters will be filmed closer and more intimately than ever before, using groundbreaking filming techniques and pioneering technology, including drone technology and the use of multiple stabilised camera systems.”
It’s basically a wildlife biography that will show their natural day-to-day challenges and lifestyle practices.
Simon Fuller’s XIX Entertainment and John Downer Productions have taken on producing the project. They agreed to recruit Boyega as the narrator for the UK piece. Meanwhile, Nyong’o will take over for the US.
Fuller expressed his excitement in a statement saying, “Lupita brings pure magic to Serengeti, her sensitivity and passion for nature shines through in every word she speaks. We are so proud to be working with such an extraordinary artist on this show that means so much to us.”
Lucky for us, she’ll be leaving the creepy voice from “Us” in the past. Look out for “Serengeti” to air on the Discovery Channel and BBC One sometime this year.
