Wendy Williams Opens Up About Moving Out of Sober House For New Life With Her Son: “I Have A Commitment To Me and My Son To Come Out of Here Better”

Last month, Wendy Williams returned to her namesake talk show after a two-month hiatus, plagued by rumors of drug abuse and her husband, Kevin Hunter’s infidelity. Upon her return, Williams denied her husband’s alleged transgressions and instead, opened up about her struggles with addiction. 

“I’ve been living in a sober house….You know I’ve had a struggle with cocaine in the past,” she said. “I never went to a place to get treatment…Only Kevin knows about this. Not my parents, nobody. Nobody knew because I look so glamorous out here. I am driven by my 24-hour sober coach back to a home that I live in the tri-state with a bunch of smelly boys who have become my family.” 

However, days after her admission, new details surfaced about Hunter’s alleged affair. In fact, according to reports, the alleged affair reportedly produced a love child, which, in turn, catapulted Williams into a drunken stupor – eventually leading to her breaking point. 

Now, as a result, Williams has filed for divorce from her husband of 22 years and is planning to move on with her life and her son. 

“It’s crazy ‘cause now my business is your business,” Williams said, as she addressed the unfortunate news on her show. ‘It’s kind of funny. Turnabouts a fair game, I get it.” 

“I’m moving out of the sober house in just a few days, you know. It’ll be Wendy on her own,” she revealed. “I have to tell you, you know, I’ve been dealing with issues with addiction, alcoholism, and I have a whole new life that I planned for myself and my son. Believe me you, when you lay in a room with no TV and four gray walls all day..this is my life in the sober house, it’s one of the best things, honestly, that could have ever happened to me.” 

“You wear a different mask when you’re out here,” Williams continued. “Everybody has things in their life that they’re …not ready to share with the world. Addressing my sobriety, my addiction, head-on has really helped me sort out every single compartment of my life. I have a commitment to me and my son to come out of here better, stronger and faster than ever. And by the way, I will still commit. I commit that the motto of this show will always be, ‘Their business is our business.”
