Although we’ve come to expect ignorance and lack of respect from Fox News outlets, this time there’s a call to action: Fire Laura Ingraham, once and for all.
On the latest episode of “The Ingraham Angle,” the host mentioned, “thousands lined the streets to say goodbye to rapper Nipsey Hussle.” She continued, “Now this dear artist recently released a song called ‘FDT’ – F Donald Trump,” while playing a portion of the music video in the background showing YG, who the song actually belongs to. Nipsey was featured on the song but not shown in the clip Ingraham used on-air.
Ingraham and her co-host, journalist Raymond Arroyo, chuckled as they continued to analyze the song, Laura sarcastically saying, “Now that’s a very creative refrain.” Arroyo replied: “Very catchy.” Then Laura asked, “So… the chorus it goes on and on. Is that related to the lowest unemployment ever basically for African Americans?”
Some prominent music figures were not cool with Ingraham’s commentary on Hussle’s memorial and took to social media to express their frustration and desire to get Ingraham axed from Fox or TV, period. In fact, The Game, T.I., Snoop Dogg and Tank have all called out Fox News and Ingraham for her remarks and demand she be fired. Tank even shared a petition link, which garnered more than 11,000 signatures, calling for Ingraham’s firing.
This incident, seen as Laura’s “third strike” regarding disrespectful comments, is the reason behind the rally for her termination. In 2018, Ingraham told Lebron James to “shut up and dribble” after he shared his opinion on President Trump. Also last year, she compared the camps where migrant children are being kept in isolation from their parents to “summer camps.” David Hogg, a survivor of the Florida high school shooting, called for a boycott of Ingraham then, which led to her criticisms against Hogg for “whining” about not being accepted into four colleges he applied to. Ingraham later apologized for those remarks.
