Prosecutors Reject Tommie Lee’s Request To Enroll In Mental Illness Program

Less than two weeks after “Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta” star, Tommie Lee, requested treatment for a serious mental illness in the wake of her most recent legal issues, prosecutors have declined her request, citing her longstanding criminal history.

Earlier this month, the reality star submitted her request for treatment, in an attempt to avoid jail time in her child abuse case. In the docs obtained by TMZ, Lee said she was diagnosed with a serious issue around the same time she was charged, and as a result, she wanted to enroll in a mental health program. 

But now, after looking over the case, prosecutors have decided to decline Lee’s request, listing the star’s criminal history and background, in addition to the evidence and allegations in the case, as a few of their reasons as to why she’s an “inappropriate candidate for an accountability court.” 

Tommie’s legal woes stem from an incident, in which she allegedly assaulted her middle school-aged daughter in school. She was arrested for the assault, and then again less than 24 hours later for violating a court order. Five months later, she appeared in court to address the seven charges, but was, once again, tossed in jail for showing up drunk. 

According to TMZ, Lee is now facing more than 50 years in prison, if convicted.
