Kodak Black Blames GPS For His Arrest At U.S.-Canada Border

Kodak Black says his GPS is to blame for his most recent arrest.

Earlier this week, Kodak Black was arrested at the U.S. – Canada border for possession of drugs and weapons. Police reports say the Florida rapper was carrying a Glock 9mm pistol and marijuana in one car. Another car, which authorities say was owned by a member of his team, was carrying loaded handguns and marijuana.

The rapper says he got lost initially and had no idea he’d exited North America. Police arrested him at the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge heading into New York State. “We’re told he didn’t realize until he was asked to present a passport, and at that point, there was no turning back … so they stayed on the route,” the site reads. “The rapper set out Wednesday to drive himself from Detroit to Boston, punched the destination into his GPS, and it put him on the most direct route … through Canada, NY and onto Massachusetts.”

Because of his arrest, Kodak ended up missing his show in Boston on Wednesday night, as well as a show in Connecticut the following night, Vibe magazine reports. However, he still has a performance set for tonight in Philadelphia.

“Kodak’s run-ins with the law have also been a topic of discussion. The 21-year-old was released on August 18, 2018, after serving seven months for marijuana possession and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon,” VIBE reported. “Kodak currently faces criminal sexual conduct charges and faces up to a maximum of 30 years in prison.” Kodak was eventually released on a $20,000 cash bond.
