If you wondered how Glory Johnson felt about Brittney Griner seeking an annulment, now we know. It appears that though Brittney wanted out, her pregnant wife of less than a month wasn’t exactly with it. In fact, she wanted Brittney to be in it for the long haul. Oh, and did we mention Glory is having twins?
Yesterday we reported that on Wednesday, an Arizona judge rejected Griner’s request to annul the couple’s 28-day marriage. According to documents, the court found “no legal basis for annulment,” while stating “the case shall proceed on the Petition for Dissolution of Marriage with Minor Children.” This still leaves the door open for a divorce, but needless to say, it’s a hurdle Griner didn’t want to have to deal with.
On the judge’s decision, the pregnant Tulsa Shock player says, “I am thankful the annulment was rejected because an act of marriage did occur.” She goes on to say, “Together we made life changing decisions which impacted our lives collectively, and we both should be held responsible for those decisions.”
Somewhere Brittney is screaming “Let my people go!”
