For three days straight, a 4-year-old girl took care of her infant brother after their father murdered their mother before killing himself.
On April 21, a couple who lived in the neighborhood found the 4-year-old girl and her three-month-old baby brother after they were stuck in their house for three days, following their father’s murder-suicide on April 18.
The deceased parents were identified as 46-year-old David Kooros Parsa and 38-year-old Mihoko Koike, according to People.com. The neighborly couple found the children after police conducted a welfare check but saw no signs of anything wrong. However, there are no reports on whether or not the police went inside the home. “Our little angel was able to keep herself and her brother alive,” Los Angeles police Capt. Maureen Ryan said at a press conference, Fox LA reports. “The baby is a miracle baby, and the little girl is a hero. She’s an absolute hero.”
When officers left the home, the couple decided to check for themselves. “I begged him not to go back in there, but he went back in there because they wanted to find the baby,” Olivia Robinson said of her husband, James, KTLA reports. Reports show Olivia Robinson’s husband found the girl alone downstairs while the boy was upstairs. “She obviously was in bad condition because she reeked really bad of urine,” Olivia Robinson said. “And she had more of a blank stare on her face. She was very, very quiet.”
Olivia’s husband, James, said he knew something wasn’t right. “I think she may have said they were sleeping, but she told me that they’re upstairs and they’re hurt,” James Robinson told KTLA. “Right there, we figured it’s just not good.” Another neighbor, Tony Medina, took the girl home until police arrived at the home. “She heard her mom crying,” Medina told CBS. “And then what really was kind of heart-wrenching was when she said she saw ‘mommy was broken.’” LAPD has confirmed the children were taken to the Department of Children’s Family Services.
So very sad the children today see so much heartache and horrors. To young to understand, yet adult enough to care for an infant brother. I pray this lil girl has amnesia for this time in her young life.????
I came across this article a while back but my heart has never left them.
I pray they are being well loved and taken care of years on.
i wonder how they are doing today. THIS world can be unpredictable, what made the father snap to commit such a horrific crime? We will never know but I pray family took the kids and they are not in Foster homes.
