Nipsey Hussle’s Sister Seeking Guardianship Of Late Rapper’s Daughter

Nipsey Hussle’s sister, Samantha Smith, has filed documents to obtain legal guardianship of the late rapper’s eldest daughter, Emani.

This week, Smith filed legal documents in the Los Angeles County Superior Court requesting the guardianship of Nipsey’s 10-year-old Emani Asghedom. TMZ reports that Smith believes Emani’s biological mother is not able to care for the child. Nipsey was reportedly the sole guardian prior to being fatally shot on March 31st.

Smith explained in the paperwork that she has been a caretaker of Emani throughout her life and wants “to ensure the continued stability for Emani and ensure that she will be able to maintain her current and ongoing relationship” with Nipsey’s family.

Nipsey also has a child with his longtime girlfriend of five years Lauren London, who’s named Kross. Kross, who is a two-year-old, will be cared for by London. Meanwhile, in Smith’s tribute to Nipsey on April 2, she expressed that she will be there for Emani, saying, “I got Emani.” The judge has yet to rule on the guardianship petition, according to TMZ.
