Back in 2017, Ice Cube announced the fourth sequel to his 1995 cult classic, “Friday.”

“We’re working on one right now,” Cube said at the time. Although, Cube failed to provide extensive details about the forthcoming film, he revealed the working title of the final sequel. “We’re gonna call it ‘Last Friday,’” he said.

Since then, Cube has remained mum about the project. But now, just two years later, he’s officially announced a potential release date for the highly anticipated film.

“We are pushing for it,” Cube said, during the latest episode of ESPN’s “The Jump.” “We finished the script, we are getting notes from the studio, and it’s going back and forth.”

“Get into pre-production and start hiring,” he continued before he suggested a release date. “It would be nice for this to come out on the 25th anniversary.”

The original, directed by F. Gary Gray, was released on April 26, 1995, grossing $28.2 million on a $3.5 million budget. The 25th anniversary would fall on April 26, 2020, which is less than a year away.
