A bench warrant has reportedly been issued for Tanisha, the mother of Nipsey Hussle’s young daughter, after she missed a court date in a DUI case, according to TMZ.
TMZ reports that Tanisha was charged with a DUI in Los Angeles a few years ago and pleaded no contest to one of the charges, which led to three years of probation. She reportedly missed a May 15 court hearing, which resulted in her probation being revoked and the warrant being issued. A response from Tanisha was not included in the report.
The timing is notable because TMZ also reports she is in the middle of a custody case over the daughter she shares with the late rapper. According to the outlet, Nipsey’s family has petitioned the court to give custody to his sister, Samantha Smith, and has raised concerns about whether Tanisha can care for the child.
At a custody hearing last week, Tanisha reportedly became emotional and said it had been months since she had spent time with her daughter. TMZ reports the judge cleared the courtroom and allowed her 20 minutes with the child before the hearing continued. No ruling on custody has been made yet.
We will keep you posted if the court releases more details.
