Before leaving LA to head for Memphis, Matt Barnes stopped by Big Boy’s Neighborhood to discuss everything from marriage to his new love interest. He also talks about his multiple fines, his on-court argument with Floyd Mayweather and having to relocate and leave his family behind.
Matt touches on his divorce and says it’s difficult to know whether or not he will get married again. “I think we live in a society where marriage needs to be redefined. it’s different from when our parents were married…It’s just a different time….It’s a difficult situation being in the spotlight.” I definitely don’t disagree that marriage today is not how it was 40, 50 years ago, but I’m curious to pick Matt’s brain about what he thinks the redefinition of marriage entails.
On whether or not he’s seeing someone, Matt tells Big Boy, “I have someone I’m interested in. She’s dope…everybody knows her…she’s dope. If I said the name it’ll cause a lot of trouble.” He then goes on to say that he has a crush on Rihanna. I mean, who doesn’t?
Matt also jokes about the crazy DM’s he gets from women on Instagram, and also about his #BallerificCharity work with the Matt Barnes Basketball Camp which is heading into its 8th year.
