In a sit-down interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, Radio Host and Author Howard Stern revealed that Donald Trump’s 2016 Campaign was a publicity stunt.
Stern claimed to have “inside information” that Trump’s campaign run was idea drummed up by a public relations guy to help Trump sell more copies of his book “The Art Of The Deal.”
“This is a publicity stunt,” Stern said in the interview. “I have no doubt because I have some inside information.”
Stern also said that every time Trump was looking to garner publicity for a particular project, whether it was a book release or re-negotiations for more money to do his NBC television show “The Apprentice”- Trump would create rumors or talk about his ambitions to consider a run for presidency.
“In the last election, “The Apprentice” ratings were not what they were,” Stern said. ”NBC was not going to give him a raise, and what’s a better way than to get NBC’s interest? ‘I’ll run for president, get lots of press,’ and I think that’s what happened.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Cooper asked Stern if he thinks The Donald is enjoying being President, to which Stern sternly said “No, I don’t think he likes being president at all. He enjoyed winning (the election) because he likes to win, but he does not like being president.”
Trump has appeared on Stern’s show “The Howard Stern Show” over 20 times throughout the years, where he has engaged in crude and demeaning conversation about women. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
However, Howard revealed that Trump was always one of his best guests because he had no filter. “He would say anything. And you know, oddly enough, during the campaign and even now, people quote these interviews that I did with him,” Stern said.
