Amid of the highly anticipated release of his brand new memoir, “Darkness to Light,” former NBA Baller Lamar Odom is opening up about his troubled past, his marriage to Khloe Kardashian and his addictions to alcohol, drugs, and sex. In a few previously released excerpts, Odom revealed how his life changed after his near-fatal overdose, how Kardashian remained by his side throughout recovery and more heartwarming details of his seven-year marriage to the socialite. But with all the good times the two shared, Odom explained that the two often had bad times, one of which ended in threats.
“Khloe came down and knocked on the door,” Odom explained of the drug-induced moment he is especially ashamed of. “I opened it suddenly and grabbed her forcefully by the shoulders, which frightened her.”
“What the fuck are you doing?’ I screamed, out of my mind. ‘You trying to embarrass me in front of my friends?’” Odom said the incident, in which he was high on cocaine and ecstasy, came after Kardashian called for help when he started hallucinating in his ‘man cave.’ “I’ll fucking kill you! You don’t know what I’m capable of.”
After the outburst, Kardashian reportedly ran upstairs and slammed the door. Later, Odom offered his wife an apology. “I was embarrassed and ashamed,” Odom wrote. “It was a new low for our relationship, and my life….the most regrettable moment in a series of regrettable moments.”
In fact, in an interview with “Good Morning America,” Odom doubled down on his regret, saying, “I’m pretty sure she had to be scared at that point in time. I’m thinking about it now, like, I couldn’t believe how I was treating that queen like that.”
“Her friends and family, they had to be embarrassed,” Odom said, adding that he believes he owes “her and her family an apology. Big time.”
In another interview, Odom opened up about the near-fatal overdose at the Love Ranch, and although the baller had taken responsibility for his battles with drugs and addiction, he revealed that he did not take drugs that night.
“Dennis Hof, I don’t know what he had against me, but I didn’t do drugs that night,” Odom revealed. “So I don’t know if he tried to poison me, I don’t know what he had against me…he tried to kill me.”
Although the claim has yet to be confirmed, Odom says his lawyers have proof. However, his daughter has convinced him to leave it alone, as Hof, the owner of the Love Ranch, died in 2018.
