Former NBA star Scottie Pippen has added the young daughter of a couple to a lawsuit over alleged damage to his Florida home, according to NBC News.
Pippen filed the original suit in December 2018 against Lindsay and Jacob, who stayed in his Fort Lauderdale home after their own home was damaged by Hurricane Irma in September 2017. The suit claims they caused more than $109,000 in damage. It says Pippen, whose house was on the market at the time, let them stay as long as the property was kept in top show condition.
The lawsuit alleges damage to the front gate, entertainment system, drawers and cabinets, and says a pet and mold on patio furniture added to the problems. It also claims rent, reportedly $30,000 a month, was not paid on time. The new filing alleges the couple’s 5 year old daughter marked up parts of the home with markers and crayons.
Lindsay denied the claims through a spokesperson and criticized the decision to include a child in the suit.
Pippen’s attorney, Jason Giller, said the lawsuit is not a laughing matter. He said the damages sought go beyond what was caused by children and pets, and that Pippen had to do extensive cleaning and replace items including the movie theater. Pippen is seeking payment for damages, legal fees and other costs.
