Jim Jones Explains How The Jay-Z And Cam’ron Reunion At The B-Sides 2 Concert Went Down

NOBODY expected Cam’ron to pop out and perform “Welcome To New York City” alongside Jay-Z at Webster Hall back in April. But it turned out to be one of the greatest moments of the night…and seemingly an end to one of hip-hop’s biggest feuds.

Jim Jones, who also showed up at Webster Hall that night, sat down with Elliott Wilson and Brian “B. Dot” Miller for the latest episode of the ‘Rap Radar’ podcast and broke down how the two rap stars finally reunited and how he became the middle-man in the situation.

Jones explained, “I got a call saying Jay about to do a special B-side concert. I’m like, ‘Cool, can I get some tickets? What’s up?’ I thought that was the call like, ‘Hey, you pulling up?’ They like ‘Yo, [Jay-Z] wants to perform ‘Welcome to New York City.'” 

“Right after I got the call, I called [Cam’ron], I said, ‘Yo, Jay is doing this B-Side concert?’ [Cam’s] like ‘Yeah.’ [I say,] ‘He’s trying to perform ‘Welcome to New York City,’ and they wanted me to know if maybe, you might just want to perform. You know, I’m just trying to do what I do.’ He’s like, ‘Yeah run it. Let’s do it.’”

Regardless of how it happened, we’re all glad it did!
