Apple Music vs Itunes

On Monday, Apple announced the launch of a new Apple Music app and system improvements at its Worldwide Developers Conference in San Jose, California.

As we previously reported, the new music app will be the standard for entertainment on Mac and mobile devices, replacing iTunes after its inception 18 years ago. According to Billboard, Apple shared a number of cool new tech features and developments at the conference.

Apparently, real-time song lyrics to Apple Music on iOS and Apple TV will be available, and words will scroll as the song plays. Televisions on the operating system will allow each user to access their Apple Music libraries and preferences from home. In IOS 13, Siri will be able to stream live radio feeds from 100,000 stations, including those under iHeartRadio, TuneIn and Radio.com. Sharing audio between devices will also be available on the new operating system, allowing two people to listen to the same song or audiobook at the same time.

Fortunately for Apple Music subscribers, the new app is expected to undergo improvements but will maintain the personalized features users are familiar with. The Music app was built using similar coding as iTunes, and it’ll include some older iTunes features such as library management and smart playlists.

As they phase out iTunes, Apple is focusing on three separate apps for content; music, podcasts, and television. These apps are set to launch this fall, with the release of a new Mac operating system, “Catalina.”

For those of you who are asking, Apple will still allow you to purchase and download songs through the iTunes’ Music store within the Music app. Movies and television shows will be available for purchase through the Apple TV app, and iTunes gift cards will also remain active. With the update, to sync and manage your devices, users will have to access a tool located in Finder on their Mac.
