Showtime has acquired worldwide rights to ‘Ready for War, a new series that features the stories of three immigrant soldiers facing struggles of deportation, executively produced by Drake, his manager Adel “Future” Nur and others.

According to a Deadline exclusive, ‘Ready for War,’ was created by director Andrew Renzi and Nick Boak. The series examines the “cause and effect of deporting U.S. military veterans and their forced recruitment by Mexican drug cartels.”

The four-part series also tackles immigration and other serious issues such as PTSD, drug abuse, and the excessive nature of punishment given to immigrant soldiers who commit a crime.

This isn’t the Grammy-Award winning rapper’s first attempt behind the camera, “Euphoria,” a show executive produced by Drake starring Zendaya, is set to air on HBO in June. However, a Showtime release date for “Ready For War” has yet to be revealed.
