A 31-year-old woman was picked up by the Chicago Fire Department and taken to Rush Hospital early Thursday morning after she was allegedly sexually assaulted at embattled R&B singer R. Kelly’s former music studio.
The woman was reportedly picked up just before 4 a.m. at the intersection of Loomis Street and Carroll Avenue, a few blocks from the studio on the 200 block of North Justine, according to Chicago Sun-Times. Fire officials said say she was treated for sexual assault and her condition has been stabilized.
A spokesperson for the Chicago PD confirmed citywide dispatchers received the call but did not provide further details. Scanner traffic said a woman reported being raped by three males at what she believed to be R. Kelly’s studio and was thrown out the back door.
Several police vehicles were seen around 4:20 a.m. outside the building and officers on the scene confirmed they were responding to a reported incident at the address, but declined to provide more information.
The building served as Kelly’s music studio until he vacated the premises in February after a judge’s order for violating his curfew. The recording studio is allegedly where Kelly kept some of the women he is currently being accused of abusing over the years.
According to Daily Mail, the building is for sale, and it is unclear who would have been inside or had access to the property as Kelly’s landlord claimed in January she does not have a key.
