On Tuesday, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith announced the launch of their newest business venture, Westbrook Inc. According to Variety, Westbrook Inc. will be the powerhouse behind new and existing projects from the entire Smith family, including tv shows, movies, and other digital content.
“We are so excited to announce this new venture and fully immerse ourselves in all areas of the media and entertainment space,” Will and Jada Pinkett said in a joint statement. “With our incredible team of family, chosen family, and longtime business partners, Westbrook Inc.’s mission is to spread positive ideas, art, and products that entertain and empower the greatest number of lives, inspiring the next generation of artists to do good in the world.”
As far as their plan for new projects, the emphasis is on developing feature films, TV series, and documentaries with diversity in mind. Westbrook Studios is expected to release new content as early as the end of this month, Variety reports.
Westbrook Studios already produces Jada Pinkett Smith’s Facebook Watch series Red Table Talk, which features daughter Willow Smith and her mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris, but moving forward, it will also handle branding and social media for Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, Red Table Talk, and Jaden Smith’s water brand Just Water.
Westbrook Inc. will encompass subsidiary studios such as Overbrook Entertainment, which was the force behind some of Will Smith’s biggest films, “Hitch,” “Men In Black II,” and “I Am Legend.” It will also include Red Table Talk Enterprises, Westbrook Studios, Westbrook Media, and the merchandise business Good Goods under the entertainment umbrella.
